Making Social Media Work to Meet Your Business Goals Requires a Plan.

social media strategy Mar 04, 2024

Most business owners know they need to be on social media but may not have an idea why they are there. Setting up a Facebook account and posting when you think about it is not a plan. It’s an afterthought.

Your goals for social media should fit with your business planning as a whole. They should support your overall business goals.

Before you plan.

The start to any plan is understanding the goal and the action steps needed to accomplish it.

List ONE goal you have for your business next year. Be realistic and specific as you consider your goal. Outline how social media can support that goal. List your current social media channels and pull analytics for each of those. Create a report of meaningful data as it pertains to your business goals.

What channels should your business be on?

One question that business owners often ask us is what channel they should be on. It’s a great question! Why waste time on channels that will not help you meet your goals.

Let’s start with doing some research. Don’t just start a business page on the accounts you use personally. You need to be where your target audience is most likely to engage.
